Sliabh gCua St. Mary's G.A.A
Lá Na gClub
The Sliabh gCua - St. Mary's club invite you to celebrate with us on Lá Na
gClub on May 10th . Lá Na gClub is to celebrate the 125th birthday of the
G.A.A. and on this date all Clubs in Ireland will celebrate with events in
their clubs.
Our aim is to get as many people as possible from the parish of Touraneena
involved in the culture of the G.A.A., hurling, football, music song and
dance. We want to include you or any member of your family if you are new to
the area or even if you have never been involved in G.A.A. previously. We
hope to get as many people as possible playing hurling and football in
Kirwan Park on that date.
We are also looking for volunteers to help with the following, stewarding,
parking cars, serving teas, supervising children etc. We would also like
anyone from the parish that can play music and would like to take part in
the parade or concert to come along.
The club will also launch its new gear, windbreakers and polo shirts with
the Club crest on this date. If you wish to purchase same you should contact
David Whelan with the size and deposit by April 24th.
The programme for the day is as follows:
• 1.15 Parade from Village to Kirwan Park
• 1.45 Open air Mass in Kirwan Park
• 2.15 Raising of G.A.A. 125 year Flag
• 2.20 Launch of Club gear
• 2.30 Kids Go Games primary school children boys and girls
• 3.30 U-16 hurling two teams of 13/16 year old boys
• 4.00 Ladies football two ladies teams from Touraneena
• 4.30 Men's hurling two teams from Touraneena
• 5.00 Masters football over 40s two teams men from Touraneena or past
players
• 5.30 Open air concert Also on the day bouncy castle, face painting and
G.A.A. skills.
